Lessons now go one step at a time, and you can set how they read

by Miles Corran · October 29, 2026

Long lessons are easier to take in a piece at a time. So CertBrain lessons now show one section at a time.

Stepping through a lesson

  • A lesson with three or more sections opens on its first section, with a Step 1 of 6 marker and a progress bar.
  • Continue takes you to the next section and names it, so you know what's coming. Back goes to the previous one.
  • Show all puts the whole lesson on one page if you'd rather scroll. Show one section at a time switches back.
  • Your place is kept in the page address. Refresh, or go back in your browser, and you're still on the same step. A link to a heading, or a click in the lesson's contents, opens the step that holds it.
  • The last step ends with the Quiz me on this button, so you can test yourself as soon as you finish reading.

Shorter lessons stay on one page, as before.

Why steps? A review of 56 studies found that breaking a lesson into parts the learner moves through helps people remember it and apply it, and makes it feel less heavy. It takes a little longer, which is fine.

Set how the text reads

Lessons and blog posts now have an Aa button. It lets you choose:

  • Text size: Small, Default, Large or Largest
  • Line spacing: Tight, Normal or Loose
  • Width: Narrow, Normal or Wide
  • Font: the site's font or your device's own

Your choice is saved in your browser, with no account needed, and applies to every lesson and post. People read best with different settings, so try a few.
