Privacy Policy

Information we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and, if you choose to set one, a username, bio, location, website, and profile picture. We also store the activity you generate while using the app: study sessions and scores, and per-card study scheduling data (so we can show you which cards are due for review).

How we use it

We use this information to operate the app: authenticating you, displaying your profile, and tracking your study progress and streaks. We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers.

Authentication & service providers

• Google and Supabase Auth handle sign-in (we never see or store your Google password), and Supabase hosts our database and stored images.
• PostHog records which pages you visit and what you do in the app, linked to your account when you're signed in, so we can see which features are used.

These providers process your data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. We don't share your data with any other third party.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. PostHog stores an analytics identifier in your browser. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Claude connector

If you connect CertBrain to Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant (see Claude connector), Claude can act on your account through the connector: list, search and read decks and cards, create and edit your decks, add, edit and delete cards in them, attach images to your cards, record quiz results, and read your streak and points. We receive only what Claude sends to the connector, such as the cards it creates or the quiz answers it records. We don't receive your conversation with Claude. If Claude asks the connector to attach an image, we download it from the link given and store it with the card. Whatever the connector returns to Claude is then handled under Anthropic's privacy policy. You can disconnect at any time in Claude's connector settings. That removes Claude's access and leaves your account and decks as they are.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account and content until you ask us to delete it. You can permanently delete your account, decks, cards, and activity at any time from your profile's "Delete my account" link. If you'd rather we do it for you, or you can't access the app, email us at the address below.

Children's privacy

CertBrain is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above.
